Just minutes ago, John Kirby of Jayhawk Slane broke the news Kansas fans had been hoping for regarding former Nebraska wideout Jaidyn Doss.

Doss comes from Kansas City, MO, and is just a redshirt freshman. Doss did not see much playing time last season. His high school days give Kansas fans a lot to be excited about.

In September of 2022, Doss was profiled by 247Sports national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu. Below is what Trieu made of the wideout.

"Verified at nearly 6-foot-0, 200 pounds. Looks almost like a running back on the hoof. Productive player since his freshman year and has played in state title games and big games. Can play in a variety of roles from outside receiver to slot and can play in the backfield and take handoffs. Also has experience as a return man. Shows good short area quickness, which allows him to separate as a route runner. Above average breakaway speed and good elusiveness. Can take short passes and go the distance from anywhere on the field. Will likely continue to be used in a varied manner in college. Good, not elite measureables, but has all the tools to be a productive college player, one that offense will have a lot of options with how to deploy."

For NFL fans, Trieu compared Doss to New Orleans Saints wide receiver Dante Pettis.

Doss will be joining a room stocked with 14 receivers and is one of the youngest as that room currently hosts nine players with more experience then Doss. Yet, thanks to his impressive high school resume, Doss should quickly be on his way to the top.

Per the Nebraska Athletics website

"For Raymore-Peculiar High School... Doss totaled more than 2,000 career receiving yards and rushed for nearly 1,000 yards.

"According to MaxPreps, Doss caught 121 passes for 2,212 yards in his Panther career. He averaged more than 60 receiving yards per game in his high school career with 21 touchdowns. Doss also had 94 carries for 922 yards and seven touchdowns.

"A first-team all-state selection in 2022, Doss caught 47 passes for 794 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing 22 times for 261 yards and one score as a senior. In his junior season, Doss was an all-state pick with 28 receptions, 442 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. He added 394 rushing yards on 43 carries with three scores

"Doss was rated as a three-star prospect, and 247Sports ranked him among the top 65 receivers in the country. He had an impressive offer list that included Colorado, Illinois, Kansas State, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon and TCU, among others."

Doss marks the 28th brecruit in this cycle for Lance Leipold and his team looking to snag bowl eligibility for the third time in his Kansas career.
