When Kansas took to the hardwood against Davidson in what turned into a massive 90-61 win, without doubt it looked like the best performance from an offensive aspect all season long. The ball was moving with ease, and subtle cuts were made on each possession that showed a controlled tempo. The same tempo that has been lacking for an offense that currently notches 75.8 points per game, 159th-best in the country.
In the first half against the Wildcats, Kansas notched a strong 51 points, which were nicely divided by Tre White (16), Melvin Council Jr. (10), Flory Bidunga (10), Bryson Tiller (6), Jamari McDowell (5), Kohl Rosario (2), and Elmarko Jackson (2). All of which came on a strong 21-36 field goal rate, with an even stronger 6-11 mark from beyond the arc.
This marks the most amount of points in a single half since Kansas took down Oklahoma State last season. A game where Kansas marched away with an elite 96-64 win, which saw the Jayhawks notch 52 points in the first half.
Jayhawks were able to perform nearly as well in the second period, as Kansas outscored Davidson 39-31, where Kohl Rosario showcased his growing form with a strong 11-point outing, while going 4-8 from the range, which includes 3-6 from beyond the arc. Rosario led all second-half scorers; the second-highest was sophomore Flory Bidunga. Bidunga finished the game with 18 points, including eight in the final 20 minutes.
The next chance to see the Jayhawks is January 3rd, as Big 12 play is soon to get underway. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT with streaming available on Peacock.
