The Kansas basketball team has played nine Big 12 games and is halfway through their slate of conference matchups. The Jayhawks are 7-2 in the Big 12 and 17-5 overall. KU is riding high with a six-game winning streak but still has several games against terrific opponents left.
Included in the six wins that make up the streak are wins at home against Iowa State and BYU and one on the road at Texas Tech. On the horizon are two games against undefeated Arizona, a home game against Houston, and a trip to Ames, Iowa, to face the Cyclones again.
The team is still adjusting to playing with Darryn Peterson, who missed a lot of the non-conference schedule with various injuries, but the star freshman has played in most of the Big 12 games.
Peterson, along with transfers Tre White and Melvin Council Jr., have provided plenty of firepower on offense. Flory Bidunga can score as well and is an incredible rim protector, as he leads the conference in blocked shots. The recent emergence of Bryson Tiller adds another weapon for the Jayhawks.
Elmarko Jackson, Jamari McDowell, and to a lesser extent, Jayden Dawson have provided most of the help off the bench. They have all added different skills for KU.
