The Kansas basketball team enters the Big 12 tournament as the third seed after finishing in a three-way tie for third during the regular season. KU was awarded the third seed by winning tie-breakers against Iowa State and Texas Tech.

The Jayhawks ended the regular season with a 22-9 record overall and a 12-6 record in conference play. Kansas has conference wins over Arizona, Houston, Iowa State, Texas Tech, and BYU.

The Jayhawks need to win at least two games in the tournament to protect a four-seed in the NCAA tournament. If they win the Big 12 tourney, they could move up to a three-seed. If they lose early in the Big 12, they could drop to a five-seed. KU needs to play well in Kansas City and find a way to play more like they did against Kansas State and less like they did against Arizona State.

One thing is for certain. No school will be particularly happy about seeing Kansas in their bracket because when the Jayhawks are on, they can beat anyone.
