Kansas basketball statistical leaders after successful non-conference schedule

The Kansas basketball team went 10-3 during the non-conference portion of their schedule. Several players took up the slack for Darryn Peterson's absence.

The Kansas basketball team finished its rugged non-conference schedule with a respectable 10-3 record and ranked 17th nationally in the AP poll. The only losses for KU were against North Carolina, Duke, and UConn.

What’s been impressive is that Kansas has played well despite the fact its superstar freshman has barely seen the court. Darryn Peterson has seen action in only four of the games. He’s performed well in those rare instances, averaging 19.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals in 26.3 minutes per game.

The rest of the team has responded, growing and improving without him. The Jayhawks will head into Big 12 play on a four-game winning streak and having won seven of their last eight outings.

KU is a good team, with or without Peterson, and will wreak some havoc in conference play.
