The Kansas basketball team beat Houston Monday to keep alive a small hope that it can still win a slice of the Big 12 title. KU plays Arizona on Saturday, and the Wildcats have a two-win lead over Kansas, Iowa State, Houston, and Texas Tech. A loss to Arizona will eliminate KU from contention.

The statistics for the Jayhawks reflect how heavily head coach Bill Self relies on his starters. Other than a few shooting percentage categories, his starters dominate all categories as KU does not get much help from the bench. Only Elmarko Jackson and Jamari McDowell see meaningful minutes.

Among the starting five, however, the Jayhawks spread their scoring out, with four averaging 13.5 points per game or higher, and Bryson Tiller adding 8.9 points.

KU also gets plenty of blocks, thanks mainly to Bidunga and Tiller, and KU is an excellent free-throw shooting team, hitting 77.1 percent of its attempts.
