With the Kansas basketball season two weeks in, we gave player grades to each Jayhawks player based on their performances early on.

Hunter Dickinson: A

2024-25 Stats: 18.5 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 1.8 APG, 2.0 SPG, 2.0 BPG, 55.6% FG, 0.5 3PM, 40.0% 3PT, 63.2% FT

You can’t ask for much else from a center at the collegiate level. He is one of the most dominant post players Bill Self has ever coached. Dickinson single-handedly carried KU to a victory in what was an otherwise awful showing against Michigan State. The defensive struggles will always persist, but what he brings to the table offensively is unmatched.

Zeke Mayo: A

2024-25 Stats: 13.3 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 3.5 APG, 0.5 SPG, 44.2% FG, 2.3 3PM, 36.0% 3PT, 1.000% FT

Mayo has been everything as advertised through the season’s first four games. He serves as a secondary ball handler alongside Harris and can score from anywhere on the floor. There hasn’t been a KU player with his long-distance range since Lagerald Vick. Despite a couple of rough shooting nights, Mayo has proven he can compete amongst the best players in the country.
