The 6-foot-8 forward hails from Richmond, VA, where he plays for Petersburg High School. On3 ranks Allmond as the No. 25 overall player in the nation, according to Rivals Top-150. Allmond is also the No. 5 power forward in the nation and the No. 2 player in Virginia. Only behind Jordan Smith, who On3 has as the No. 4 player in the nation.
According to On3, Allmond is favored to join Indiana and new head coach Darian DeVries. The recruiting database lists Allmond with a 37.2% chance as Allmond has had a confirmed visit with Hoosiers according to 247Sports, with the visit on June 17th.
Rivals' Jamie Shaw previously analyzed Allmond.
"Latrell Allmond was one of the stars of the NBPA Top 100 Camp, and the 6-foot-8 forward parlayed that into the June Scholastic Live Period. Playing with Petersburg (VA) High, Allmond was an offensive threat at multiple levels. He gained advantages from two and three dribbles and consistently shot the ball at a high rate.
"Allmond is a noted tough guy. A player who finds winning plays consistently throughout the course of a game. A lot of that is why he is currently ranked No. 25 in the 2026 On3 150 . This summer, with the Team Loaded VA program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, Allmond is averaging 15.0 and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 47.1 percent from three. Allmond had the baselines buzzing as he continues to be one of the biggest risers in this cycle."
Allmond spoke with Shaw earlier this year, where he talked about the biggest factors about his open recruitment.
"Playing time is something that will for sure be a factor for me. I want to play in a system that kind of has like a five-out feel, get out and run, defend. I’m a versatile wing, that is what I’m getting recruited as. So a team where I have an opportunity to play and whose system will let me go out and show what I can do on the court.”
Last season, Kansas ranked as the 7th-best defense in terms of points allowed per game at a 69.6 mark. If the prediction of Indiana holds much weight. Their newest coach, DeVries, old school, West Virginia, totaled the 2nd-best defense in the Big 12 with 64.8 points allowed.
