The Kansas Jayhawks continued their major hot streak on the diamond by completing a sweep against UCF in Orlando this weekend.

The win puts KU at 27-6 on the year and 9-3 in Big 12 play. The 27-6 record is the best mark through 33 games in school history, as is the 9-3 start in Big 12 play.

The Jayhawks have also hit 73 home runs this season – just two shy of the program season record with more than a month of baseball still left to play.

KU now sits atop the Big 12 standings alone in first place with a chance to add to their lead following a couple of key series against TCU (No. 5 in the Big 12) and K-State (No. 3 in the Big 12) over the next couple of weeks.

Dan Fitzgerald, now in his third season at the helm of KU baseball, has the program ranked No. 23 in the country with a potential trip to Omaha for the College World Series for the first time since 1993 looking like a real possibility if they continue their stellar play.

The Jayhawks will next play host to former Big 12 foe Nebraska on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence. Tickets can be purchased here or the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
