Kansas football has a chance to keep its season alive this weekend with a showdown against the No. 16 Colorado Buffaloes. Coach Prime’s squad is playing its best football of the year, but so are the Jayhawks — they are coming off back-to-back upsets over a pair of Big 12 title contenders.

Can KU continue to wreck the hopes and dreams of the conference’s top dogs? We’ll find out on Saturday. Oddsmakers certainly give the Jayhawks a fair shot, as they will enter as 2.5-point underdogs to CU.

Kansas football opens as slight underdogs to Colorado

FanDuel Sportsbook initially listed the spread at 3.5 points, but it dropped one point. There could be more change throughout the week depending on where bettors are putting their money. The moneyline currently sits at -132 in CU's favor and +110 for the Jayhawks.

Despite a subpar record, Kansas entered the games against Iowa State and BYU as underdogs. Lance Leipold's group might be a game away from becoming ineligible for a bowl, but don't be fooled. They have a +55 point differential and have the talent to compete against any team in the country.

The Buffs are coming off a dominant win against Utah last week. Future first-round pick Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy candidate Travis Hunter can punch their ticket to the conference championship and a potential College Football Playoff appearance if they string together a couple of wins.

Since an uninspiring performance on the road vs. Nebraska in Week 2, Colorado looks like a completely different team. The Buffs have had their way with most teams in the conference. But even entering a somewhat unconventional road game, the pressure is on CU to perform. Kansas has clearly had no issue playing spoiler over the past few weeks.

The game will be aired on FOX at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
