Hunter Dickinson jokes about collegiate eligibility in hilarious Instagram comment
The Kansas basketball team is expected to compete for a national title in the 2024-25 season, largely due to the threat that Hunter Dickinson poses on the offensive end. The two-time All-American and Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year is undoubtedly one of the most skilled big men in recent history.
Dickinson was already hated during his time at Michigan, and the decision to transfer to a blue-blood school certainly didn't bode well for his outside popularity. Entering his fifth year of college basketball, one of the biggest knocks on the 7-footer is that he has spent too much time at the collegiate level. If you think that Dickinson hasn't seen those types of comments on social media, you'd be wrong — he even poked fun at some of his haters in an Instagram comment section on Tuesday.

"Hunter Dickinson is still in college??"

In an Instagram post by the March Madness social media account, the admin asked followers who the best big man in the country was. Dickinson, being the jester that he is, decided to have some fun in the comment section.
As has been the tradition of college basketball fans since the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to those who played during the 2020-21 COVID-19 year, people have criticized him for not moving on to the next level yet. Dickinson will be 24 in November, making him older than multi-year NBA players. Fans echoed the same sentiment when Dickinson announced he'd be returning to Kansas for a super-senior year.
Make no mistake; Dickinson thrives on the hate from opposing fanbases. He loves to lean into his villain role, and his recent Instagram comment makes it clear there are no hard feelings toward those who dislike him.
His fifth and final year at the college level will be his second in Lawrence. The Jayhawks had a disappointing finish to the season one year ago, but Dickinson and head coach Bill Self have a better supporting cast to work with this year. Perhaps the superstar center can finally win a championship before going pro.
