The Kansas basketball team rejuvenated its season with a top-10 victory over Iowa State to move to 7-4 in conference play. Despite losing two heartbreakers within the span of a week, Bill Self and his squad gave Jayhawk fans renewed hope with its defensive clinic against the Cyclones.

While Kansas is known to receive a favorable whistle in Allen Fieldhouse, the Jayhawks didn't need one on Monday. ISU struggled immensely on the offensive end, shooting a dismal 19-for-62 from the field and connecting on 11-of-20 free throws. Despite nearly doubling their opponent in free throw attempts, ESPN commentator Fran Fraschilla took issue with the officiating, going on a minute-long rant over a single call:

Was it an offensive foul on KU guard Zeke Mayo? Sure. But Fraschilla’s commentary was far from impartial, as he implied the officials were favoring the Jayhawks — especially with his remark about calls going their way “in this building.”

The problem? One call doesn’t define an entire game. Moreover, Fraschilla could have stopped after a sentence or two, but he kept going by the time the ball had been inbounded and ISU took back possession.

Fran Fraschilla continues to show bias against Kansas with recent outburst

His outburst garnered even more attention due to a tweet he put out on Sunday. He asked why anyone would ever consider officiating a sports event since parents and fans are 'idiots.' Yet a day later, Fraschilla threw a fit on national TV about officiating. Go figure.

Fraschilla, who makes frequent posts on social media, teased his critics on Tuesday:

If his bias wasn't already evident enough, Fraschilla continued to share his frustrations about the call on X and began writing to displeased Kansas fans who weren't happy with how he called the game.

It's not as though Fraschilla does not know that the Jayhawk faithful thinks he has it out for Kansas, as he threw some sarcasm toward their way with this post:

Fraschilla has been a polarizing figure in Lawrence for quite some time. However, one thing for certain is that Kansas supporters might want to listen to the next ESPN broadcast on mute.
