Earlier today, the Kansas Jayhawks' offseason took a bit of a positive upswing as two Jayhawks were nominated to the All-Big 12 second team.

Both offensive lineman Kobe Baynes and wide reciever Emmanuel Henderson Jr. got the nod.

The pair contributed to Kansas' 26.5 points per game, which ranked 69th in the nation. For Baynes, the offensive line allowed just 1.58 sacks per game, which ranked above the national average by a decent bit, and Baynes played a key role managing up front.

Kansas ranked 60th in the nation with 157.8 rushing yards per game, and Kansas' offense toppled on a decent 5.7 yards per play.

Henderson quickly stoodout as one of the nation's best transfer wideouts, as from game one his electric speed magnetized coverage.

In Kansas' first five games, Henderson notched five touchdowns with four through the air and one kick return touchdown in a blowout 41-10 win over West Virginia to open up conference play.

Offensive coordinator Jim Zebrowski had hemmed in on opening up the space for Henderson to exploit, and early into the season, things were clicking. Five games into the season, Henderson already had two 100+ yard games, including a mind-boggling 214 yards in a 37-34 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Yet, as the season wore on and Zebrowski's schemes began to wear out, Henderson's impact took a hit, and his explosiveness showed in the general offensive game plan as Kansas won just two games following the hot start.

While against the Utah Utes, Henderson tallied his third and final 100-yard performance with a smooth 113-yard showing. Despite Henderson's big day, the Jayhawks failed to secure a bowl appearance for the second straight season and finished 5-7 after a 31-21 loss.
