Kansas athletics is off to a strong start. The soccer team has managed a 3-0-2 record with a recent draw against the No. 2 Seminoles, setting a benchmark. Kansas football has jumped out of the blocks hot with two blowout wins against Fresno State in a 31-7 win, followed by a 46-7 win over FCS side Wagner.
But the bread and butter of Kansas athletics has been built on is slowly moving closer. The Jayhawks are slowly coming closer to opening the doors to Allen Fieldhouse for fans to flood in to watch Kansas take on Green Bay before a daunting trip to North Carolina follows soon after.
ESPN’s Dick Vitale recently released his treasured “All Rolls Royce, Diaper Dandies” preseason teams.
This is how Vitale labeled the “Diaper Dandies” section.
“These are the freshmen phenoms, the future lottery picks, the "wow" factor kids who are ready to dazzle from day one.”
The first name on that list was none other than Kansas’ own Darryn Peterson.
“Naismith HS POY, can score, rebound, pass, defend. Bill Self's got himself a big-time winner in Peterson, who is a future top-3 draft pick.”
Another player who made the list is an early opponent in Cameron Boozer, as the Jayhawks face Duke in the State Farm Champions Classic, when the Jayhawks take on the Blue Devils on November 18th.
“The son of Duke superstar Carlos Boozer, but this kid's carving his own legend. He's also a two-time Gatorade National POY, a double-double machine and a guaranteed Blue Devil Rolls Royce.”
The young Peterson was touted as the No.1 prospect in the nation via 247Sports, with Boozer rated as the No.3 player in the nation; his brother, Cayden, also committed to the Blue Devils as a point guard, and is rated as the 23rd-best player in the class of 2025.
