Bill Self just reminded everyone why Kansas is more elite than North Carolina

The conversation on the anger of court-storming has reared its head again after UNC beat rival Duke in the final second of the game in Chapel Hill. Once the game hit the final buzzer, fans stormed onto the court before the refs, and the Blue Devils couldn't even get out of the way.

After the game, Duke's head coach made a big deal about how unsafe the court storming was and made a claim that multiple members of his staff were punched in the face before getting off the court. Those claims ended up being false, but either way, the conversations about the safety of court storming rage on.

For the Kansas Jayhawks, they never seem to be in the conversation as court storming never happens in Allen Fieldhouse, and head coach Bill Self made it known they just never will.

Bill Self calls out UNC for court storming, siting KU fans will never do it

After Kansas took down No. 1 Arizona in Allen Fieldhouse, the fans stayed right where they were, didn't even try to get on the court. Some of that is because of the way the building was built, as the student sections have a wall and a pole they would have to jump over in order to get on the court.

The other part of it is because of the culture that has been built in Kansas, where court storming has just never happened. Self even said that fans shouldn't rush the court, and it felt like he was calling out a certain blue team for doing so.

"No. No. We’re not going to rush the floor here, plus we don’t have a building that’s conducive to rushing the floor," Self said on the "Hawk Talk" radio show Wednesday. "No, that’s not how we roll at all. I’m not saying it’s wrong anywhere else (to storm), but I just don’t think that you do that at our place.”

Self didn't come outright and say Kansas is better than UNC, but it felt like that was what he was implying, especially with UNC's court storm so recent. The fans at Kansas were happy to stick around, though, after the game, even after the team had their postgame meeting, just to see the guys who worked so hard to get the win.

Kansas fans are simply just different and Bill Self knows that.
