Kansas -4.5 (-108)
This one is simply betting on who has been the far superior team through the first month of the season. The Kansas Jayhawks already have wins over North Carolina, Michigan State, and Duke. Creighton's best win is Notre Dame, who is 4-5 and has just one win against a power conference opponent this season. They are also coming off of a 1-2 showing at the Players Era Festival.
The game is being played in Omaha, but I don't think that is enough of an advantage for the Blue Jays in this one. Their best players are Ryan Kalkbrenner and Steven Ashworth. While I don't expect Hunter Dickinson to play lockdown defense on the big man, Kalkbrenner might be focused more on stopping playing defense on the other end. Those two could very well cancel each other out. Ashworth will matchup with Dajuan Harris, who is one of the best defenders in the entire country. If Harris can stifle Ashworth, it could cause the rest of the offense to struggle.
KJ Adams Over 10 Points (-120)
Adams is coming off of arguably the best week of basketball during his entire four-year career at Kansas. He had just eight points in the win over Duke, but his defense and energy were vital after Dickinson was ejected with 10 minutes left in the game. Saturday against Furman, he matched his career-high with 22 points. He also had three assists and collected a season-high six rebounds.
That may have been (and likely was) an anomaly for Adams, but I'm willing to ride the hot hand. I don't need 22 points. I just need 11. With Dickinson battling against Kalkbrenner, Adams could benefit offensively. With his high efficiency, he only needs 6-7 shots and a free throw or two to hit double digits.
Pop Isaacs 3+ 3PT (-130)
The Blue Jays have lived and died by the three this season. They are 18th in the country in 3-point attempts. What makes this a bit scary is that they are 265th in 3-point percentage. Isaacs is doing his part in contributing to both of those numbers. He is attempting more than seven three pointers a game, but shooting just 33% on those attempts.
He has hit this number in just two of his games. However, both of those games have come in the past couple weeks. He only took two attempts in their last game, but hit double digit attempts in the three games prior. I am banking on two things for this one: Dajuan Harris preventing Steven Ashworth from taking his normal amount of shot attempts, and Creighton needing to play catch up for at least a portion of the game.
