Kansas basketball head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawk coaching staff rolled out the red carpet this weekend for a huge visitor when Tyran Stokes, ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class by every major recruiting site, made his way to Lawrence.

To get things started with a bang, the staff sent him a video that can only be described as absolute chills material. Jayhawk fans would agree it might be one of the coolest recruiting videos ever made.

Kansas basketball recruits Tyran Stokes with incredible video

On his Instagram story, Stokes showed off the video Kansas sent him before the visit, and it was unreal. The minute-long clip was packed with highlights from some of KU’s biggest moments. It featured the crazy energy inside Allen Fieldhouse, the championship banners, and the rich tradition that comes with wearing the crimson and blue.

Some of the program’s biggest stars even made appearances. Christian Braun, Thomas Robinson, Ochai Agbaji, Joel Embiid, and others all sent personalized video messages talking about what it means to be a Jayhawk.

Stokes, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, is one of the biggest names in high school basketball. Although he is listed at 245 pounds, he moves like a guard with his length and quickness. He is a nightmare for opposing defenders, and his physical tools let him dominate players of all sizes.

Right now, Stokes is set to be part of the 2026 class, but there has been a lot of buzz about him reclassifying to 2025. Stokes has said he plans to stay in his class, but fans know how fast things can change in recruiting. If he were to make the jump, there is a real chance he could team up with incoming freshman Darryn Peterson to create one of the best one-two punches Kansas basketball has ever seen.
