3. Zeke Mayo is one of — if not the most — impactful players on the team

For the second straight game, Mayo came off the bench. And for the second straight game, he was arguably the most impactful player on the court. The former Jackrabbit has now finished with a game-high in points in each of KU’s contests.

Mayo's diverse offensive skill set brings another dimension of fun to the Jayhawks. At one point in the first half, he pulled up from the logo without hesitation and drained a contested 3-pointer. There hasn't been a player with that much confidence in his shooting stroke since Lagerald Vick.

As we've written about before, Mayo is bound to join the starting lineup at some point over Diggy Coit or Rylan Griffen. But regardless of whether he does, Coach Self needs to keep playing him toward the latter portion of games. He is a terrific scorer and even played tough defense against RJ Davis to keep him in check.
