2. Continued defensive effort from KU's role players
With KJ Adams sidelined for the next few contests with a shoulder injury, Kansas had its worst defensive showing of the season against Kansas State. Fortunately, KU righted the ship at TCU, holding the Horned Frogs to 61 points and a 37.9% field goal percentage.
Kansas likely won't win this game by just outscoring Houston. Points will be difficult to come by, meaning Self must draw up his best defensive concepts to keep the Cougars at bay.
After a poor first half, AJ Storr broke out in the final 20 minutes, particularly on the defensive end. He finished with three steals and was active in passing lanes. That kind of energy is what the Jayhawks need from all five players on the court to disrupt UH's rhythm.
