1. Zeke Mayo leads the team in points and shots attempted
All offseason long, Coach Self has sung his praise for Zeke Mayo, calling him the team’s best player on multiple occasions. Fans can finally witness if the South Dakota State transfer is as good as advertised.
AJ Storr, KJ Adams, or even David Coit can put points up in a hurry and should have a featured role in the offense tonight. Still, Mayo is a prolific 3-point shooter, scoring 18.8 points per game on 46.6%/39.1%/82.8% splits in 2023-24. The Lawrence native has an opportunity to prove himself to the Jayhawk faithful and show he can sustain his success at a higher level of competition. We have the utmost confidence that he will.
