Samuel L. Jackson posted his reaction to a play during the Kansas basketball game when Hunter Dickinson showcased acting skills of his own.

On today’s mash-up of people you probably didn’t expect to cross paths: Samuel L. Jackson and Hunter Dickinson.

While the Kansas basketball team took on No. 7 Tennessee in a consolation round of the Maui Invitational, Dajuan Harris went up to shoot a 3-pointer with about 12 minutes remaining in the contest. But before the ball touched the floor, Tennessee guard Dalton Knecht was called for a loose ball foul on the former Michigan Wolverine.

Dickinson, the most sought-after player in the transfer portal this offseason, has quite the frame. KU Athletics lists him at 7-foot-2, 260 pounds. So naturally, when he fell to the floor from a slight push by the Vols’ 6-foot-6, 204-pound combo guard, viewers immediately pointed toward Dickinson for ‘flopping.’

One man in particular set the Internet on fire with his words about Dickinson.

Samuel L. Jackson, one of his generation’s most highly acclaimed actors, must have been watching the Tennessee vs. Kansas basketball game. Because when Knecht was called for that foul, he took his thoughts to X (formerly Twitter) to bash the KU big man.

“Damn, this Dickenson MF on @KUHoops flops like he’s on a Soccer Pitch!!!” the A-list entertainer tweeted.

You could say Dickinson was putting on an acting performance of his own.

Oddly enough, Jackson does not have any affiliation with the University of Tennessee. He attended Morehouse College, an HBCU in Atlanta, Georgia. However, he did grow up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, so he has some ties to that area.

His most renowned roles include those in Pulp FictionDjango Unchained, and True Romance. He is now 74 years old and seemingly watches college basketball games in his free time.
