6. Dajuan Harris

Juan was completely outplayed by the Marquette guards. He continued to be careless with the ball and was even worse beat multiple times on defense and had trouble at times keeping the speedy guards in front of him. Dajuan’s early season tweet calling out haters on his shooting has not aged well. He continues to show he couldn’t throw a beach ball into the ocean when shooting.

He missed all of his wide-open threes, and several layups were either missed or blocked. He showed against other solid point guards he is not at that level. We have been fortunate over the years with elite point guards. Unfortunately, he is not that. This brings me back to the nurse days of Naadir Tharpe when we had an enigmatic and erratic offensive quarterback.

He was a terrible 2-for-8 from the field and 0-for-3 on wide-open threes. In 35 minutes, he had four points, three assists, three rebounds, two steals and two turnovers. He will have another tough matchup today with Tennessee PG. For KU to reach our ceiling he will need to be better in all aspects of his game and must knock down open shots or we will continue to see teams collapse and try to limit Hunter down low. Kev has been amazing all year, but he needs help from the supporting cast.

7. Elmarko Jackson

Elmarko continued to start while producing very little as he played 21 minutes. Patiently waiting for the McDonalds All-American to arrive at a game. Elmarko appears to be trying to play Bill Self ball but has not just let loose and attacked and played free yet. The potential is there, and we will need him to get up to speed sooner rather than later, or his playing time will continue to go down as well. He has struggled to keep the ball in front of him and his defense was suspect last night as well. He was 0-for-4 from the field and finished with zero points. He finished with one rebound, three assists, one steal, and two turnovers.

8. Parker Braun

Parker played for seven minutes and made his only shot. He had two points and one rebound. He didn’t do a lot and needed to help grab more rebounds but is what it is for the reserve big man.

9. Nicolas Timberlake

Nicolas had a rough outing until his last stint on the floor where he scored five points in a 1-minute stretch. He has missed open looks and has finished at the rim while consistently being beaten on defense. Timberlake continues his Winter shooting touch going 1-for-5 from the field and 1-for-3 from 3. He finished with five points, two rebounds and one steal. I believe he is running out of time to show he can knock down shots as his playing time should continue to go down as the year continues.
