Top-graded Kansas football offensive players from loss to Texas Tech

LT Dominick Puni (69.2)

As always, Puni anchored the offensive line and did a tremendous job protecting the quarterback. The future NFL Draft selection anchored the 60-yard touchdown by Devin Neal that put the Jayhawks on the board in the fourth quarter.

TE Mason Fairchild (67.5)

Fairchild was the third on the team in receiving on Saturday, bringing in two catches for 20 yards. Nobody really got it going through the air. He led Kansas football in PFF’s passing grade.

LG Kobe Baynes (66.1)

Baynes alternated with Ar’maj Reed-Adams at left guard and was present for 44 of KU’s 72 offensive snaps. He has been seeing more time than Reed-Adams lately and proved why vs. Texas Tech. His 67.3 run-blocking grade led the team by a far margin.

QB Cole Ballard (65.4)

Believe it or not, true freshman quarterback Ballard was one of the highest-graded players in KU’s loss. He completed 9-of-20 passes for 124 yards and an interception, adding 20 yards on the ground. Ballard played 57 of the team’s snaps after replacing Jason Bean who suffered a head injury in the opening quarter.
