3. Jamari McDowell

McDowell ‘got his bell rung’ pretty badly the other day, according to Coach Self, and he subsequently missed Monday’s game against NC Central. He has been absent from practice for three days and is still making his way back.

Although there was speculation that McDowell’s absence was due to him redshirting, those rumors were quickly shot down by Self. He added that if the 4-star freshman could return to practice by yesterday, he’d likely be good to play. Therefore, we might see McDowell make his Jayhawk debut tomorrow.

Most minutes at point guard will be given to Dajuan Harris and Elmarko Jackson. Still, if Kansas gets to a point where they bring in the walk-ons in a blowout, McDowell will be able to gain some valuable experience by running the offense.
