No. 5 Thing We Learned About Kansas Basketball: Bill Self might need to bring a new player in at midseason

Some have mentioned the possibility of Bill Self raising Zach Clemence’s redshirt if depth continues to be an issue, but I’m under the notion that bringing in a new player at the end of the first semester is a more feasible outcome.

He mentioned this possibility during his press conference during Big 12 Media Days, which raised the eyebrows of Kansas fans. Adding another player would certainly be welcomed by the Jayhawks, a team technically short one player considering Arterio Morris was expected to be a crucial component of this roster.

The only benefit to sticking with Clemence would be that Kansas wouldn’t be affected by the self-induced scholarship limit posed by the program last season. He still counts toward it even though he is redshirting. With that being said, we have seen what Clemence is capable of in the past, which isn’t much. It’s too early to tell what Kansas might need in a month and a half, but it’s definitely something worth monitoring.
