Tier 2: Baby Jays

4. Johnny Furphy

It was great to see the Aussie out there despite dealing with shin splints. You could see his potential and ability when he was on the floor. He started the second half. He very well could become that fifth Jayhawk to start down the road. I have a feeling he will be a key piece of this team come March. Johnny played 14 minutes and had two points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one turnover. He played timid at times but looked to run the offense, and I could see him thinking out there. When he cuts it loose and is aggressive, he will be a big piece for us.

5. Dajuan Harris Jr.

Juan had a typical Juan game. Played solid defense, distrusted the ball, and missed his only wide-open 3-pointer. He played 33 minutes and had seven points, eight assists, one rebound, two steals, one block, and a disappointing four turnovers. He had some nice dimes and had some careless passes as well that resulted in turnovers. While you can see that Kevin has put it in another gear with improving his game, Juan looks like the same player from last year who will be inconsistent from open looks and still sloppy at times with the ball while still providing great defense.

6. Parker Braun

Parker played about 10 minutes and hustled while doing some positive things to go with four fouls. He had three blocked shots, three rebounds, five points that included a banked three, and one turnover. Parker was aggressive and active tonight. It was good to see some blocked shots. He hit a prayer-banked 3-pointer, but it is concerning to see four fouls in his time. We can’t afford to help out teams on the line. Overall, a positive outing for Parker.
