Kansas football: Big 12 football releases scheduling matrix for next four seasons
Today, the Big 12 football scheduling matrix for the next four seasons was unveiled. Find out future opponents for Kansas football in the new-look conference.
In order to protect the Big 12 from falling apart like the Pac-12, Commissioner Brett Yormark agreed to bring in newcomers Cincinnati, BYU, UCF, and Houston last year as they prepared for the departures of Oklahoma and Texas. Earlier this year, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona State also agreed to join, creating a super conference with 16 schools.
Big 12 football schedules have functioned with a traditional round-robin for the better part of a decade. There were ten schools and a nine-game conference slate, meaning each team played against each other. However, things will be different in the coming years, and today marked the official release of the scheduling matrix for the next four years (2024-2027).
The only school Kansas football plays in each year is Kansas State, which should come as no surprise considering the Sunflower Showdown has taken place in each of the last 113 years. Aside from that, the Jayhawks are set to face BYU, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia three times while playing the rest of the conference twice.
Here are each of the nine conference games Kansas football will play in the next four seasons.
