Kansas Basketball Experiment No. 4: Jamari McDowell running the point for an extended period

In what could be one of the final times this season that McDowell has an open path to playing time, the coaching staff should take advantage of the opponent they have and give him some much-needed experience. Although his defense is promising, McDowell is viewed as a project player who will become more valuable as time passes.

The 4-star freshman played under four minutes against Illinois and doesn’t look ready to contribute against the better teams in the sport. However, he could learn a thing or two from playing a dozen or so minutes tonight, even if it isn’t the most formidable opponent on the other side.
