Kansas Basketball Positive No. 3: No matter how the team looked, it didn’t count

If we’re being honest, there were very few positives to come out of the scrimmage. Kansas didn’t look like the No. 1 team in the nation. But to keep a positive outlook on things, let’s remember that this game means nothing in the long run.

It didn’t count toward KU’s regular season record, and one game shouldn’t change people’s perspectives on the rest of the year. We can chalk this up to an inter-squad practice — after all, it was supposed to be a secret scrimmage at first.

Bill Self himself said that he wants his team to get exposed so they know what to work on, and that is exactly what happened. Gaining preseason experience from the Puerto Rico trip and games like this will only benefit the Jayhawks down the stretch.
