Kansas football: 5 highest-rated Jayhawks in first half of season, according to PFF
1. QB Jalon Daniels (87.7)
It almost seems wrong to include Daniels amid all the disputes surrounding his back injury, but according to the guidelines we set at the beginning, he qualifies for this list. His 201 snaps — albeit in three games — average out to 28.7 snaps per game for each meeting on the Kansas football schedule.
When Daniels is on the field, he’s as effective as any quarterback in the Big 12. He has started against Illinois, Nevada, and BYU, and in those games he has thrown for 705 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception with a 74.7% completion percentage.
His PFF grade is 13.5 points higher than Jason Bean’s (74.2), though he does have a smaller sample size. His passing grade is 88.4 and his rushing grade is 65.8, which makes sense considering he has been less of a factor with his legs when he has been active.
As it stands right now, Jalon Daniels is still the highest-rated player on the Kansas football team according to PFF. Jayhawk fans hope he can return by next week against Iowa State so the team can play to its fullest potential.
