Kansas football: 5 highest-rated Jayhawks in first half of season, according to PFF
2. DE Austin Booker (82.7)
Austin Booker has emerged as a pleasant surprise for Kansas football this season. His five sacks are tied for third in the conference, and he’s even totaled eight tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
The Minnesota transfer jumped several players on the depth chart en route to a starting spot and hasn’t looked back since. At 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, he is athletically and physically gifted on the gridiron and has real potential to make it in the NFL.
He and Jereme Robinson are the top pass-rushers for the Jayhawks, though Booker has enjoyed more success statistically. PFF grades him high in all aspects of his game, with an 80.4 rushing defense grade, a 68.4 tackling grade, and an 84.1 pass-rushing grade.
