Kansas basketball has a total of 13 former players set to begin the NBA season. Find out which Jayhawks will be taking the hardwood this year.

The Kansas Jayhawks have produced some of the most accomplished NBA players in the league’s history. They boast the fourth-most players at the next level in NCAA history. It should come as no surprise that nearly half the teams in the NBA are sprinkled with former Jayhawks.

Opening Night has arrived, and we will see former Kansas basketball players in both games. Therefore, we decided to put together each former Jayhawk still competing in the NBA for the 2023-24 season.

Here is a list of each of the 13 former Kansas basketball players on an NBA team this year (not including G League).

C Joel Embiid — Philadelphia 76ers

Embiid is coming off a season in which he won his first-ever MVP award while also taking home the scoring title and several other prestigious honors. He is, without question, the best former Kansas basketball player in the NBA and one of the school’s greatest of all time.

Now 29, the Cameroonian native averaged 33.1 points and 10.2 rebounds across 66 games in 2022-23. He’ll look to replicate statistics like those to bring him a consecutive MVP.

Philly has still been unable to get over the hump that is the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The clock is ticking for the 76ers, but Nick Nurse will look to lead them to the NBA Finals as he did with the Toronto Raptors.

The 76ers’ season does not begin until Thursday when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks on the road.
