Toughest Kansas basketball game: Semifinal/Championship game in Maui Invitational

The Maui Invitational is absolutely loaded this year, with ranked teams littered throughout the field. The Jayhawks get a break in the first game by playing the host school of the tournament, Chaminade.

Other ranked teams in the field of the Maui Invitational include No. 11 Gonzaga, No. 9 Tennessee, No. 5 Marquette, and No. 3 Purdue. The Jayhawks could play No. 5 Marquette in the semifinal game, which would be the toughest game of the non-conference slate, considering it is on a neutral site.

If Kansas basketball is fortunate enough to be in the championship game against most likely Purdue, then that would be the most difficult game. There are so many scenarios in this tournament that could give Kansas a huge test.

This Maui Invitational is the most loaded I’ve ever seen a Thanksgiving day tournament before. I’m not sure there has been a tournament featuring this many top-15 preseason-ranked teams in one tournament before.
