Bryson Tucker: SF, Bishop O’Connell

Tucker is a 5-star recruit on all four major recruiting sites and one of the most highly touted forwards in his class. The 6-foot-6 wing has been considered a Michigan State lean, but with Bill Self in the picture, that may no longer be the case.

His father, Byron, also played college ball. He had this to say about his son:

“His strength right now is his IQ and his understanding of the game. Those are his major strengths, along with his fundamental skillset. I see him being a Cade Cunningham-type kid. When I talked to (Duke coach) Jon Scheyer, I told him it’s like Jayson Tatum and Grant Hill had a child together.”

It had been reported that the coaching staff was in to watch Tucker play a few days before McNeeley committed to Indiana. That would suggest Coach Self had known Kansas was not in the picture anymore. Although it remains to be seen just how vigorously they will pursue Tucker, he appears to be one of the most feasible targets available.
