The Kansas basketball season unofficially begins this Friday during Late Night in the Phog. These are five things Jayhawks fans should monitor.

Kansas basketball was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play the Bahamian National Team in their offseason Puerto Rico trip. It gave them some much-needed experience heading into the season. They now play another scrimmage, albeit against players they’re familiar with, during Late Night.

Even if it’s a friendly competition, we will be able to witness the growth of individual players and speculate their performances. Kansas is expected to open the year as the preseason No. 1, but they still have a few underlying issues. This game could address them.
