5. The program would never have expected to be in this game a few years ago

I have mixed feelings about the negativity stemming from this game from some KU fans. While I wasn’t too happy myself when watching the game, it’s important to take into account where this program was during the 2010s.

We are three years removed from a winless season, and now we think the end of the world is upon us because we lost to a national championship contender in their home stadium? Fans need to be honest with themselves. This team doesn’t have the recruiting talent to win a conference title just yet, and we are in the midst of year-three in Leipold’s rebuild. Give it some time!
