5 reasons for Jayhawks fans not to be worried after the Kansas football loss to Texas

4. Defense kept them in the game for upwards of two quarters

The defense did all it could to keep Kansas in the game. But when the opposing team has possession of the ball over 40 minutes, there’s only so much you can do. Steve Sarkisian tired them out by pounding the run after they performed pretty well in the first half. Their performance still deserves some props against multiple NFL prospects in the receiving core.

Although defense isn’t the strong suit of this team, it will need to continue to make some plays. They forced Quinn Ewers’ first interception of the year and forced some big stops. If Jalon Daniels continues to miss time, there’s only so much we can expect from the offense.
