5 reasons for Jayhawks fans not to be worried after the Kansas football loss to Texas

3. The Jayhawks needed a reality check

Not to state the obvious, but Kansas was never finishing undefeated, nor were they winning ten games. There will be close wins and losses throughout the rest of conference play, but this was always the most difficult game on KU’s schedule. Now we know that there is still plenty of work that needs to be done.

The soft run defense was exposed, as was some of the poor secondary play. Coaches will certainly have a field day when they re-watch the film. On the bright side, though, they can correct those mistakes and use those corrections against a UCF team that just blew a 28-point lead to Baylor.

We as Kansas football fans already experienced what it feels like to be riding high and then suddenly crash to the ground. All we can hope for now is that Leipold and Co. can fix it this time around and not finish the season 1-7.
