While yesterday’s performance was subpar, these are five reasons Kansas football fans should not hit the panic button just yet.

Losing sucks. Especially if it’s in a game that was actually winnable at one point. But while there are no moral victories in football, the Kansas Jayhawks actually performed better than most could’ve expected them to yesterday.

Heading into the game, Kansas football fans were struck with the news that star quarterback Jalon Daniels would be missing the contest due to him reaggravating a back injury earlier in the day. That set the stage for a disastrous day. The Jayhawks fell 40-14 after remaining somewhat competitive in the early stages of the game.

Although there aren’t many positive takeaways from yesterday, there is still reason for optimism heading into the next seven games of Kansas football. The season is nowhere near over, and losing a road game to a top-three team in the country is something 99.9% of schools would do.
