5. LB, Craig Young

Craig Young is another player who I expected to take massive strides this season, but he has been a bit quiet so far. Budding star JB Brown has outshined him at linebacker, and his snap count dropped in the previous game. He also allowed several catches to the Cougars’ tight end.

Young plays the “Hawk” position, so he is asked to do just about everything Brian Borland needs him to. We even have seen him line up at cornerback from time to time. In a game where Kansas football will need to mask defensive coverages to throw Quinn Ewers off, Young could be an essential component of that deception.
