3. Philon is one of the most athletic guards in his class

Don’t be fooled by his skinny frame. Philon has BUNNIES around the hoop. That is something you don’t find often with a player who’s play style is more pass-first.

With an entire year in high school left, one can only imagine how he will develop physically. Although he might be done growing height-wise, his potential as an athlete is not.

The only thing I’m worried about is how his jumper will be in college ball. Coach Self loves to recruit tremendous athletes with no 3-point shot. That might be what we should expect from Philon. Still, we’ve seen it work with KU teams in the past, and you should probably trust the judgment of a 2-time national championship-winning head coach over mine.
