Kansas football: Confidence meter for remaining Jayhawks Big 12 games
Kansas State Wildcats at Kansas Football (Nov. 18)
It has been 15 years since Kansas football beat K-State. So why do I think they’re more likely than not to do it this season? Maybe it’s delusion, but Kansas has simply looked like a better team than the Wildcats through the first four games. Jalon Daniels continues to lengthen the gap between him and Will Howard each game.
Their defense has looked suspect the past two weeks against Mizzou and UCF, in which they allowed 31 points to UCF’s backup quarterback. Speaking of the Mizzou game, I’m not looking too deeply into it because that field goal is something you hardly ever see. But it should be worth noting that they had the game in their hands and dreadfully blew it in the late stages.
I don’t want to get too caught up on a handful of early-season games. Kansas wound up finishing under .500 after starting the season 5-0 a year ago. However, I think 2023 is the year we finally see the Jayhawks storm the field against their bitter rival.
