Oklahoma Sooners at Kansas Football (Oct. 28)

This is where it starts to get tricky. No one will think anything poorly of Kansas if they fall to Texas — in fact, they’ll likely receive praise if they can keep it somewhat close. However, the game against Oklahoma will show us whether Kansas is truly a top dog in the Big 12 or just a very good team.

OU is close to surpassing last year’s win total after a down season in 2022 (for their standards). Their offense has looked choppy at times, but they only allowed 6 points on the road against Cincinnati last week. It is clearly a different team than last season under one of the conference’s best players, Dillon Gabriel.

Winning this game would immediately change the trajectory of the Kansas football program. They’d have a serious shot to finish with double-digit wins. If I were to bet on it, I’d put my money on the Sooners, but I would not be surprised at all to see Kansas prevail in a shootout.
