Kansas football: Confidence meter for remaining Jayhawks Big 12 games
Kansas Football at Oklahoma State Cowboys (Oct. 14)
In years past, Jayhawk fans would dread a game in Stillwater. But right now, it’s probably the least challenging game on the schedule.
Oklahoma State has looked absolutely dreadful through these first two weeks. They got embarrassed at home by South Alabama, falling 33-6, and allowed 34 points to the lowly Iowa State defense in the conference play opener. Alan Bowman should be the starting quarterback moving forward, but he’s thrown for a 53.0% completion percentage and more interceptions than touchdowns.
Although KU wouldn’t be favored in any road game in the Big 12 five years ago, it’s hard to envision them falling to the Cowboys if they don’t pick up their play soon. Mike Gundy is a terrific head coach, but he’s working with limited talent out on the gridiron. Until they prove they are a competitive team, I’m going to view this game as a Kansas win extremely confidently.
