Kansas football: Confidence meter for remaining Jayhawks Big 12 games
UCF Knights at Kansas Football (Oct. 7)
The biggest question two weeks from now is whether John Rhys Plumlee will play. A leg injury sidelined him after Week 3, and Timmy McClain has taken over at the helm. UCF is coming off a road loss to K-State.
Gus Malzahn’s group is physical and talented, especially the offense. KU and UCF probably make up two of the top five offenses in the Big 12. It will be interesting to see how the Knights respond to what will likely be yet another sellout in Memorial Stadium.
If Rhys Plumlee were guaranteed to play, I might drop the confidence meter down to 5 or 6. UCF is better than any opponent Kansas has squared off against so far, and I still haven’t seen enough improvement from the defense against the pass. Still, with his injury in mind, I’m fairly confident Kansas can escape with a victory on their home turf.
