1. Both offenses struggle to get it going early

Although the O/U for the game is set at 55, I wouldn’t be surprised if the final score wound up in the low 40s. BYU is an experienced team that should be able to tame the fast-paced scheme of Kansas football.

That said, I don’t think highly of the Cougars’ offense. They rank 124th in the nation in rushing offense and have a suspect quarterback under center. The team lost practically all of its offensive production from 2022, and it is quickly reflecting this year.

So while I do believe Kansas will struggle to put points on the board early on, it’ll be even more difficult for BYU. I’m chalking up their 38-point performance against Arkansas as somewhat of a fluke – nearly eclipsing 40 points with 281 total yards of offense doesn’t impress me one bit.

I predict that neither team will have more than 10 points by halftime. We have seen the Jayhawks get plagued by slow starts in the past, and I think it’ll be a frustrating half for members of both fanbases to watch.
