4 reasons why Deion Sanders and Colorado vs. Kansas football will be a thrilling matchup in 2024

1. Both programs are on the upswing following many years of disappointment

Leipold accepted the Kansas job in 2021 despite having won just 21 games in the 11 prior year. Sanders didn’t take over a favorable situation either, as Colorado had only finished a full season above .500 once since 2005.

Both coaches have taken their respective programs out of the gutter.

It has been decades since CU and KU have had good teams at the same time. When the Buffs were consistently a top 10 team in the 1980s-1990s, Kansas was not in the picture. There’s a chance that these two teams can compete for Big 12 titles in future years if their coaches stay put.
