Kansas basketball was unable to secure a commitment from 5-star Jalil Bethea, who pledged to Miami. However, these five players are still on the radar for the Jayhawks.

The Kansas Jayhawks made a splash with their first commitment of their 2024 recruiting class, which was 5-star center Flory Bidunga in August. However, with October looming, Bill Self and his coaching staff are still looking to add another player onboard.

Jalil Bethea had been a Kansas basketball target for quite some time. He was one of the fastest risers in his graduating year and jumped into the top 10 in recruiting rankings last week. Although his official visit went well, he ultimately decided to go with Miami in the end.

With him out of the picture, Kansas must look to other guard talents in the Class of 2024. They have also been keen on acquiring a wing in this class. There are several options out on the market for Coach Self, but with the season approaching less than two months from now, he’d likely prefer another commit before the opener.

These five players are still being heavily recruited by Kansas basketball.
