Kansas football will look to remain undefeated this Saturday when they take on the BYU Cougars. These are five essential keys to a Jayhawks victory.

The Kansas Jayhawks will receive their most formidable test yet when they open conference play against BYU. It will be the first-ever game of Big 12 football for the Cougars.

Led by quarterback Kedon Slovis, BYU went into Fayetteville and upset Arkansas last week on the road. The team had struggled in its two previous matchups against Sam Houston State and Southern Utah.

Meanwhile, the Jayhawks narrowly escaped Nevada last week in Reno. The team had two weak opponents on its non-conference schedule but played an excellent game against Illinois in Week 2.

Both teams have lots to prove as they look to obtain bowl eligibility in what seems to be a weaker conference than in previous years. Kansas opens as 9.5-point favorites and has much more offensive firepower than their opponent, but they’ll still need to clean up their mistakes to come out of Lawrence victorious on Saturday.

If Kansas football can do these five things against the BYU Cougars, they will have no problem walking out of Memorial Stadium with a victory.
