5. Jalon Daniels is terrific, but the receivers deserve credit, too

Last night’s game was not one of Jalon Daniels’ best. That’s not to say that a 21-for-27 passing performance for 298 yards should be considered poor — especially for Kansas football standards — but we’ve seen better from the California native.

The wide receiver group starred for Kansas yesterday. Quentin Skinner made some fantastic catches, including a high ball toe tap in the second half that led to a touchdown drive. 59 of Daniels’ passing yards came from a catch and run by Devin Neal, which he created himself. Receivers were making plenty of plays for the Jayhawks.

If anything, the performance from the wide receiver group was one of the more encouraging things to see from tonight. When Daniels is on his A game and the wideouts are making plays, the sky is the limit for the Kansas football offense.
